Gastown Parkade & Storyeum

Project Value: $30 Million
Contractor: Dominion Construction
Architects: Henriquez Architects
Project Status: Completed in 2005

The Gastown parkade is one of the world's 10 "coolest" parkades, according to the Stress Free Parking website.  The parkade is a six-storey facility with 700 spaces, which was rebuilt in 2006, using pieces of the bridge that used to connect it to an adjoining parkade.  The parkade was intended to help revitalize Vancouver’s downtown district, and is inspired by 19th-century train stations.

The renovation included street level retail, including a 55,000 sq. ft. theatrical museum space, originally occupied by the historically themed underground tourist attraction Storyeum.
