This project involves a complete redevelopment of the St. George’s Senior School facility. Phase 1 involved refinement of the master plan concept. Phase 2 involved preparation of a rezoning application and concept design to enable application for a development permit from the City of Vancouver. Phase 3, yet to occur, is to the design and construction of 120,000 sf (two academic buildings, 3 and 4 storeys, complete with underground parking).
The design principles of the school prioritized the incorporation of 21st century education best practices, such as building flexibility, project-based learning, information technology, and high-quality learning spaces (natural light, ventilation, acoustics, etc.). The facility is also intended to be a demonstration project for building sustainability.
