Skytrain Faregates (30 stations)

Project Value: $8 Million
Contractor: Graham Construction
Architects: Kasian Architects
Project Status: Completed in 2013

As part of the Compass Card program, Translink retrofitted all of the existing stations on the Expo and Millenium lines with Compass Card Faregates and Glass Barriers.  Titanium Projects staff were integral in managing this project, ensuring the work was procured and installed to stringent tolerances and specifications.

The scope of the project included demolition and construction in over 30 skytrain stations during Revenue Service Hours and requiring minimal disruption to this major transit system.

The project team proactively identified design conflicts with existing conditions which were different for each station.  This required extensive surveying, slab scanning and reporting on existing conditions.  Redesigning the barrier layouts to suit site conditions and devising flexible construction and schedule methodologies to accommodate the operating conditions of the construction sites.
