Making a Safer Tomorrow

Project Overview

The Eagle Ridge Hospital emergency department expansion more than doubled the number of patient treatment spaces in the emergency department from 19 to 39. The work included four new isolation rooms to support improved infection-control measures as well as two new trauma resuscitation bays. Walk-in patients and ambulances now have separate entrances, and an area was designated for chemical decontamination.

This project had to tackle the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic while maintaining project momentum so that the emergency department was there for patients when they needed it. Physicians and staff can build upon the exceptional care they already delivered in a new facility that will benefit the community now and for many years to come.
