Eagle Ridge Emergency Dept.

Project Value: $38 million
Contractor: Halse Martin Construction
Architects: Kasian Architecture
Project Status: Completed 2022

MAKE provided overall project management of the expansion to the Eagle Ridge Hospital, which more than doubled the number of patient treatment spaces in the emergency department from 19 to 39.

The work included four new isolation rooms to support improved infection-control measures as well as two new trauma resuscitation bays. Walk-in patients and ambulances have separate entrances. An area was designated for chemical decontamination as well.

This project had to tackle the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic while maintaining project momentum so that the emergency department is there for patients when they need it, and that physicians and staff can build upon the exceptional care they already deliver in a new facility that will benefit the community now and for many years to come.
