Project Overview
This project involved the construction of a local chemical distribution (LCD) center and warehouse located on 5.5 acres in Abbotsford, BC. The development comprised warehousing, a rail spur, and bulk storage. The project also included an ethanol transload facility with a minimum storage capacity of 7,000 m3. This ethanol transload facility was relocated from the North Vancouver Distribution Facility to increase glycol storage and movement through that facility. The site was very challenging and involved preloading for consolidation and ground improvement to prevent liquefaction in a high seismic event.
