Project Overview

The Capstan Station, is a new stop on the Canada Line in the City of Richmond. It will be situated between Bridgeport and Aberdeen stations on No. 3 Road and Capstan Way. The station, constructed in response to increasing area development, is projected to provide a safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation option for an estimated 16,000 residents in the Capstan Village area. The project, costing $45 million, is a collaboration between TransLink and the City of Richmond, with an emphasis on integrated, transit-oriented neighborhood design.

Our aim was to assist TransLink to develop a station design that adheres to best practices in station design, meet TransLink’s long-term transit needs, ensure functional and reliable performance, and promote ease of constructability, operations, and maintenance while keeping construction cost-effective.
